Anathem by Neal Stephenson
Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
New Moon by Stephanie Meyer
Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer
Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer
God is Not Great by Christopher hitchens
Thirteen Things That Don't Make Sense by Michael Brooks

I've now officially jumped on the Twilight bandwagon. Yeah they are sucky books , but strangely addictive. The Volturi are my favorite. Aro can suck my blood any day! Oh yeah and he's going to be played by Michael Sheen.
Aro is my fictional lover.
So sue me.

Okay so in the last couple of weeks I have read the Twilight books.
Yeah they are becoming an obsession. They are really strange books , at least from my perspective. And yeah I have no shame either. Almost everyone hates these novels and I can see that they have a point. The novels do have a lot of flaws and irritating characters , not to mention the abundance of Mary Sues.

What I liked about the books :
The Volturi - esp. Aro and Jane.
Jacob and the Werewolves.
Alice and Jasper.
Red eyed vampires
Jane's power
It has some funny moments. Jacob is especially funny.
Charlie - he's sweet :)

What I didn't like :
Edward - Maybe its just the way that Bella describes him but  I find him almost impossible to relate to or even like. Jacob is annoying at times too , but seems more real than Edward does.
The movie - man the guy who played Edward should star in a hair gel commercial or something.
Bella is kind of passive aggressive.
Renesmee's retarded name

What I thought was weird :
Vampire baseball O.o
Renesmee period.
sparkly vampires  - lol

These books are really hated. I can see why. I'm not into the whole love and romance thing. It gags me . I prefer the evil vampires like the Volturi really.

I've been reading Anathem by Neal Stephenson.
Or I'm trying to anyways. I say "trying" because its a difficult book filled with wacky-and-somewhat-pretentious jargon littered in every other sentence.
Of course it has definitions scattered throughout the book , as well as a glossary of terms and such , but I'm still like "wtf?" on most paragraphs and have to shift back through the glossary all over again. Granted I am still on the first chapter , but in the time it's taken me to read this one chapter , I've usually read at least a third of any other book.  Of course I realize that pretentious stuff like this delights in intentionally confusing the reader, but I'd rather just have my story and be done with it. Neal Stephenson , btw , is best known for the novel Snow Crash , which is considered one of the greatest science fiction novels of all time. Now I've not read Snow Crash , but if its anything like Anathem is turning out to be , I might just write Neal Stephenson off as one of those totally overrated speculative fiction writers.

Dream - Last night I had a dream that I found a little hamster family in a hole  ( not that hole , you pervs) in my yard and rescued them from my dog. I put them in my little vase on my shelf and they lived there. The mama hamster liked talking to me. Then one day I went to sleep and woke up with all these cats and dogs in my room. Of course all the baby hamsters were missing . The mama hamster just sat there looking traumatized while I searched for her missing children.  I threw all the dogs and cats ( which included a large german shepard that tried to bite me , and many many black cats ) out of my bedroom , but alas , the poor babies were never found.

Another dream I had last night involved the Mexican version of NASA. I dreamed that the administration covered up the death of one of their astronauts , who went up in a shuttle and came back down confused and babbling crazy stuff. He later died. I went to the office of the organization and demanded an answer for his death. The receptionist (who I had to ask if she spoke english first) told me that indeed there was a mysterious death. It was theorized that aliens took over the astronauts death by sucking out his brain. I later found out that the pressure of the space shuttle just killed his brain.

In other news - I've started a (yet another) project. Over at conceptart.org they have a a thing called Character of the Week , or CHOW. Even though these contests are long over , the subjects are interesting and I want to draw them all.

I still ahvent submitted my homework for 2YN , but I will. Eventually.

Oh yeah! and I got the most adorable watch!. Like anyone needs watches these days with cell phones and everything , but it had a purple cherries charm on it and as everyone knows, I'm a sucker for teh kawaii.

Blah
Last night I had a panic attack. I got very upset quickly , then I calmed down. I was about half asleep , when I felt like my chest was caving in and then I started to panic. I was bawling after a few minutes as well. Panic attacks suck is all I can say.

I think maybe I had a panic attack because of me disappointment in myself . I'm almost 25 years old and I really don't have anything to show for it. I think I sabotage myself when I try to achieve things. I suppose I shouldn't compare myself to others my age. It's a really bad habit.

Sometimes I wish I could rewind my life and start all over. I wish I could go back and tell myself that I was making the wrong decisions.
Maybe I should look at the bright side of things .

In other news , today I tried a flan from the store. It tastes like pudding. Its pretty good I guess. I love trying new things.

I also watched The Happening on DVD . It was an okay movie. I liked the idea of the toxins released by the plants.

My local library hosted a book sale as well. I bought some Tad Williams books and some YA books. I'm not a fan of YA fiction , but it was science fiction and I collect all things science fiction.
